Outraged students protest rape !
In the article “hundreds of Colombia students carry mattresses in sexual assault protest” by Zach Schonfeld it states that students protest against rape. The also story states that the school does not handle the cases of these rape incidents properly. The article mentions that the students who committed the rape were let off with a light punishment and were allowed to return to school. According to Zach Schonfeld’s article the problem is that they are allowing these students to go back to school after a light punishment.
in the passage by Zach Schonfeld there is a quote by Rowan Hepps Keeney that says “They’re dancing around the issue, saying its not really Colombia’s problem but society in general’s” though they are not expelling the students. The students that committed the crime were allowed to return to school after their suspensions which made many students furious leading to the protest. Its quite simple honestly students get raped, school does not handle the situation well, a revolt/protest occurs where people demand a change. just ask yourselves would you wish to go to a school with a rapist sitting next to you or worst your child be a victim and see that same person who raped her everyday in class.
